BY ANTHONY COOK, Editor-in-Chief
Sycamore Review has a rich history of discovering talented writers and publishing new work by established writers. In 1990, we published a chapter of Derek Walcott‘s Omeros, which helped him win the Nobel Prize for Literature two years later. We’ve published Pulitzer Prize winners (John Updike, Paul Muldoon, and Mary Oliver), U.S. Poet Laureates (Billy Collins and Donald Hall), and many other award winning writers (Sherman Alexie, Charles Bukowski, Denise Levertov, Dean Young). We also have a strong record of publishing new talent. For example, Sycamore readers were introduced to writers Steve Almond, Anthony Doerr, and Benjamin Percy long before they published their first books.
Now, thanks to the hard work of our interns, visitors to our website can see a complete list of every poet, writer, and artist we’ve ever published (see our contributors page), along with the table of contents of every issue Sycamore Review has produced (see our issues page).
We’re proud of our record and excited to share it. We also hope you’ll find it useful. Most back issues are still available for $5. If you find something you like, head over to our subscriptions page to buy a back issue or become a subscriber. Thanks for reading!
