We’ve also nominated Rachel Furey’s short story, “Birth Act,” for New Stories from the Midwest, an anthology being edited by Jason Lee Brown of Eastern Illinois University that is set to debut next year. Furey’s story was selected by Tobias Wolff as the winner of Sycamore Review‘s 2009 Wabash Prize for Fiction and was published in Issue 21.2 Summer/Fall 2009.
