Former Sycamore editors are ‘Writers to Watch’

BY ANTHONY COOK, Editor-in-Chief

We were excited to see that two former Sycamore Review editors, Rebekah Silverman and James Tadd Adcox, were mentioned in Saturday’s Chicago Tribune. Silverman, who served as Sycamore’s editor-in-chief, and Adcox, who served as fiction editor, are among three “Chicago Writers to Watch,” according to the Tribune.

As the article points out, Silverman and Adcox have been busy since graduating from Purdue’s MFA in Creative Writing Program. Silverman’s poetry has been published in Black Warrior Review, Southeast Review, and New Orleans Review. Her work has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Adcox has published in Quick Fiction and Makeout Creek, and has work forthcoming in The Literary Review, Pank and Barrelhouse. Together, they’re also starting a new lit mag, Artifice, which will begin publishing in February 2010.
