Nami Mun’s Miles from Nowhere

BY MEHDI OKASI, Editor-in-Chief

milesfromnowhere_coverfinal19I had the pleasure of meeting Nami at the Key West Literary Seminars where we both workshopped with the venerable Robert Stone.  I’m pleased to announce that Nami’s debut novel, Miles From Nowhere, was published here in the US earlier this month by Penguin/Riverhead.

Nami is a fantastic writer and her work is breathtaking.  The novel chronicles the life of a runaway teenager in New York and Nami’s lyricism cuts to the bone.  There were so many passages that made me stop and reread, struck by her ability with figurative language.  I am also pleased to announce that Sycamore Review has invited Nami to West Lafayette to give a reading from her novel.  The event is scheduled for Thursday February 26th at 7:30 in Krannert Auditorium, so if you’re in the area, please do come.

Also, if you plan on attending AWP in Chicago this year, not only do you have the opportunity to stop by Sycamore Review’s table and meet all of us, but you can also hear Nami read.

You can check out Nami’s website here for more information about her book, tour, and about Nami herself.
