Doris Lessing Wins Nobel Prize

From Guardian Unlimited, Doris Lessing has won the 2007 Nobel Prize for literature.  At 87, she's the oldest author ever to take the prize.  And, according to the Yahoo News story, her agent said she was out shopping when the announcement was made!

That's interesting. I'm not surprised that Lessing won, but I am surprised that they waited until she was 87 and chose this year to give it to her.

Apparently, the press showed up at her door and told her and she said, "Oh Christ! ... I couldn't care less."

I don't care how old she is. That's lame.
