Most Literate Cities in the United States

Minneapolis tops the list of America's most literate cities, bumping Seattle from the number one spot in the past two years.  Central Connecticut State College's annual ranking looks at cities with  a population of more than 250,000 and decides on the list based on six key indicators of literacy: newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment, and Internet resources.  Also on the list are Denver, San Francisco, St. Paul, and my hometown, Boston.

The study also created other lists, including one that ranks the number of bookstores in relation to the population...and the winner is: Seattle, followed closely by San Francisco.  Click on the above link for the full lists.
