Mom, are You Reading This?
It's almost time for Christmas, and I'm sure that you-all, like me, are nowhere near done shopping. So, for your shopping pleasure, a round-up of book suggestion lists:
- A while ago, Blogcritics put up some book suggestions for gifts for those hard-to-suss-out relatives; they also note that books are easy to wrap, another plus.
- Scroll down to the "Bookworm" section to get TreeHugger's book picks.
- NPR's choices are tasteful as always. (And you can listen, too.)
- Books about music, courtesy Dr. Dick.
- Engtech tells us about 45 Books They Like More than a Little. (Check this for the awesome illustrating photo.)
- Swim in the main stream with USAToday's gift guide, which offers, mainly, breadth.
- Globe Corner offers this.
- Here's one focused on comic books from Pop Syndicate.
- Away.com offers a neat Interactive Holiday Gift Finder.
- And here's Sycamore's official suggestion.
A sidenote: for the first time in my life, today I watched someone literally write down a Christmas list of things they wanted, and hand it to their mother. (Maybe this is commonplace? I didn't know it really happened.) Everything on the list was a book or a subscription to a journal. Awesome.
